How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEMH Intervention Support Assistant
    Location: Slough
    Pay: £92.59-£95 per day
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time | Long-term

    Academics are working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Slough that is looking for a dedicated SEMH Intervention Support Assistant to join its team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who benefit from additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them engage positively with school and achieve their potential.

    The school is committed to providing early intervention and creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and ready to learn.

    As an SEMH Intervention Support Assistant, you will:

    Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs
    Support children in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
    Build trusted relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, self-esteem, and engagement in learning
    Monitor progress and contribute to individual support plans alongside the wider school team
    Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external agencies to provide consistent, high-quality support
    Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will:

    Have a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional wellbeing and mental health
    Be patient, empathetic, and confident in building positive relationships with young people
    Demonstrate resilience and a proactive approach when supporting pupils with additional needs
