How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School

    Location: Slough
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Full-time | Long-term

    Academics is working with a friendly and supportive primary school in Slough that is looking to appoint a committed 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant.     The Role

    As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, providing tailored support to help them manage their emotions, engage in learning, and achieve their individual goals. Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral staff, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment.

    Your Responsibilities

    Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
    Encourage positive behaviour and help the pupil develop effective emotional regulation strategies
    Adapt classroom activities to suit the pupil's individual learning needs
    Build a trusting, positive relationship that promotes confidence and engagement
    Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the school's wider support team to implement personalised support plans
    Record observations and contribute to the pupil's ongoing progress and developmentWe're Looking For Someone Who:

    Has experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs in schools, care settings, youth work, or similar environments
    Is calm, patient, and resilient when faced with challenging situations
    Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential
