Mechanical Fitter

Our client, a leading company in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Turriff, Aberdeenshire.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, install and test mechanical equipment and components in line with engineering drawings, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
Operate hand and power tools confidently while maintaining quality, accuracy and efficiency throughout the build process
Work closely with your Supervisor and colleagues to ensure project deadlines are achieved and customer requirements are met
Identify and report any defects, damage or quality issues, ensuring they are communicated and resolved promptly
Support and mentor apprentices, sharing knowledge and promoting good working practices across the team
Help maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop by following 5S principles, risk assessments, permit to work systems and company HSEQ procedures

Job Requirements:

A recognised engineering or trade apprenticeship, with good secondary education
HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering would be advantageous
Previous experience in a mechanical assembly, manufacturing or workshop environment
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and assembly documentation
Experience assembling mechanical equipment and working with limits and fits on machined components
Confidence using hand tools, power tools and heavy workshop equipment, along with measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier gauges and dial indicators
Experience using manual and hydraulic bolt torquing equipment is desirable
Knowledge of working with heavy machinery would be preferred
