How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a leader in the renewables sector, is currently seeking an ROV Tooling Technician to join their busy team in Kintore, Aberdeenshire. This permanent role offers a hands-on problem-solver the chance to work with cutting-edge offshore technology and make a significant impact in the industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing a wide range of ROV tooling and associated equipment
    Commissioning new tooling systems and supporting bespoke tooling builds from assembly through to testing
    Preparing tooling packages for offshore mobilisation, ensuring all equipment is certified, operational, and deployment-ready
    Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic systems
    Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and commissioning activities when required
    Managing equipment records, work orders, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and traceability

    Job Requirements:

    Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
    Proven experience maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing ROV tooling equipment
    Strong knowledge of ROV tooling systems, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs
    Sound understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose faults and interpret schematics
    Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
    Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-focused approach
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    Experience with electrical systems and fault-finding would be advantageous
