How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Package Description:

    The Role

Behind every outstanding primary care service is a clinical leader who inspires others, drives high standards and ensures patients receive safe, effective and compassionate care.

At IC24, we're looking for a Lead Nurse / Advanced Practitioner to provide clinical leadership across our Brighton practices, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care while developing and empowering our nursing and healthcare assistant teams.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll combine hands-on clinical practice with team leadership, clinical governance and service improvement. You'll work closely with Practice Managers, Clinical Leads and wider multidisciplinary teams to drive best practice, improve patient outcomes and support the continued development of our Primary Care services.

Most importantly, you'll understand that investing in people, maintaining clinical excellence and fostering a positive team culture helps deliver the very best care for our patients.

    What you'll focus on

→ Leading and developing clinical teams

You'll provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, helping colleagues build confidence, capability and clinical excellence.

    → Delivering outstanding patient care

You'll provide advanced clinical care and assessment, ensuring patients receive safe, effective and evidence-based treatment in line with national and local guidelines.

→ Supporting clinical governance and quality

You'll help maintain high standards of clinical governance, supporting audits, quality improvement initiatives and compliance with CQC and organisational requirements.

    → Driving practice improvement

You'll work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities to improve pathways, patient outcomes, preventative care and service delivery.

    → Developing workforce capability

You'll support training, education and career development across the nursing team, helping to create a positive learning environment and promote professional growth.

    → Managing clinical performance

You'll support colleagues through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development plans, helping to maintain high standards across the team.

→ Supporting population health and long-term condition management

You'll contribute to chronic disease management, health promotion initiatives and preventative healthcare services that improve outcomes for patients.

    → Building collaborative relationships

You'll work closely with GPs, Practice Managers, Clinical Leads and wider healthcare teams to ensure joined-up, patient-centred care.

    The environment you'll work in

Our Primary Care services are committed to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare for local communities while supporting better patient outcomes and experiences.

As a Lead Nurse / Advanced Practitioner, you'll work within a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team, balancing clinical responsibilities with leadership, governance and service development.

You'll play an important role in shaping the future of nursing services within IC24, helping to create a culture of learning, innovation and continuous improvement.

    What matters in this role

    We're looking for someone who:

    • Is a First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

    • Has experience working within General Practice, Primary Care or Urgent Care settings

    • Demonstrates strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills

    • Has experience supporting, mentoring or managing clinical teams

    • Understands clinical governance, quality improvement and audit processes

    • Is passionate about developing colleagues and supporting clinical excellence

    • Builds strong professional relationships across multidisciplinary teams

    • Is proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about delivering outstanding patient care while supporting colleagues to thrive and develop.
