How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    UI/Visual Designer

    £(Apply online only) per day | 3-6 months | Outside IR35 (TBC)
Old Street, London | Hybrid working

We're looking for an experienced UI Designer to join a multidisciplinary design team creating new digital experiences across consumer technology, medical technology and wellness.

This is an opportunity for someone who loves the visual craft of interface design and wants to work on something beyond conventional websites, dashboards and design systems.

You'll be designing across embedded devices, physical products, mobile and web applications, PC software and emerging AI-enabled interfaces.

    The role

We're looking for someone who can bring genuine visual flair to digital products.

You'll explore different creative directions, develop new interface concepts and turn UX thinking into beautifully considered UI.

Rather than simply applying an existing design system, you'll have opportunities to explore new ideas and bold ways of expressing an interface, helping establish the visual direction for new products and experiences.

You'll work alongside UX/UI leads and an established design team, collaborating closely with UX designers while bringing a stronger visual perspective to projects.

    We're looking for

Around 3-5+ years' experience in UI, Visual or Digital Product Design
Excellent visual and interface design craft
Advanced Figma skills, including components, prototyping, Auto Layout and working with design systems
Strong typography, layout, hierarchy and composition
Ability to explore and communicate multiple creative directions rather than simply applying an established component library
Experience taking early ideas through visual exploration into polished, production-ready UI
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop, would be beneficial for broader visual exploration and asset creation
Experience with motion or interaction design tools such as After Effects, Principle, ProtoPie or similar would be advantageous, particularly for device/interface concepts
Experience with 3D design or prototyping tools would also be useful for some projects, but isn't essential
Strong understanding of UX fundamentals and how visual design supports interaction
Ability to clearly present and articulate your design thinking
A strong portfolio demonstrating visual exploration, different creative routes and polished interface workExperience across consumer electronics, connected products, embedded interfaces, MedTech, wellness or other physical/digital experiences would be particularly interesting, but isn't essential.

We're open to designers with backgrounds in digital product, visual design or even more creatively-led brand environments, provided your portfolio demonstrates strong digital UI work.

This isn't primarily a dashboard or component-library role. We're looking for someone who wants to explore, create and push the visual treatment of new digital experiences.

We're also very happy to consider those with less commercial experience (2 years) so please do apply and we will reach out if your portfolio matches our requirements
