How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

We are recruiting a Health and Social Care Teacher for a well-regarded Alternative Provision school, working with students aged 11–16 who have been excluded from mainstream education.

This is a part-time role covering Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week, 9:00am–2:30pm, with the opportunity for the right candidate to move from supply into a permanent position.

Class sizes are small and supportive, with a maximum of 8 students. From September, the group will start at just 3 students, giving you the space to build strong relationships and deliver genuinely personalised teaching.

    About the School

This is a nurturing Alternative Provision setting where behaviour across the school is generally good, and staff are well supported. The owner/headteacher is highly hands-on, visible day-to-day, and known for being passionate about both student outcomes and staff wellbeing.

It's an ideal environment for a teacher who wants to make a real difference with vulnerable or previously excluded young people, in a setting where small class sizes allow for genuine, individualised support.

    What We're Looking For

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

    * Experience teaching Health and Social Care (KS3/KS4)

    * Level 3 qualification (or above) in Health and Social Care desirable

    * Experience working with, or a strong interest in, students with SEMH needs or those who have experienced exclusion from mainstream school

    * A calm, patient, and relationship-focused approach to behaviour management

    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive daily rate: £180–£250 per day

    * Part-time hours ideal for work-life balance (3 days per week)

    * Small class sizes (maximum of 8 students)

    * Supportive, hands-on leadership team

    * Genuine opportunity to progress from supply to a permanent contract

    * Immediate start available for the right candidate (7th September)
