How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - NEC & JCT Contracts

    South of Hybrid - Hybrid Working

    £60,000 - £85,000 (Negotiable)+ Car Allowance + Benefits

    Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with a background in construction, M&E, electrical engineering or renewables?

    Would you like to join an established Commercial Solar PV and EV specialist, working on high-value projects across the UK with exposure to NEC / JCT contracts and public sector frameworks?

    The company delivers commercial Solar PV projects from smaller installations through to multi-megawatt schemes, providing a complete service from design through to installation and completion.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking for a QS / Estimator to take ownership of estimating, pricing and tendering across Solar PV, EV and associated M&E projects.

    The Role

    Preparing estimates, tenders and commercial proposals.
    Pricing Solar PV, EV and M&E projects from enquiry through to contract award.
    Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
    Obtaining and negotiating supplier/subcontractor quotations.
    Reviewing NEC / JCT contracts and identifying commercial risks.
    Supporting public sector frameworks and tender submissions.
    Working closely with Bid, Sales, Design and Project Delivery teams.
    Identifying value engineering opportunities and ensuring competitive pricing.
    The Person

    Experience as a QS, Estimator, Senior Estimator or similar.
    Background in construction, M&E, electrical engineering or renewables.
    Strong experience pricing commercial projects.
    Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
    Public sector/framework experience advantageous.
    Solar PV, EV or renewable energy experience desirable.
    Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
