How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    DevOps Engineer

When registering to this job board you will be redirected to the online application form. Please ensure that this is completed in full in order that your application can be reviewed.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in improving the delivery, reliability and operational maturity of Microlise software products and platforms. Working closely with Software Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Developers, Test Engineers and Infrastructure teams, you will help drive automation, consistency and operational excellence across our development and deployment processes.

You will be responsible for building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, improving observability, automating infrastructure and deployment activities, and ensuring our teams can release software safely, reliably and efficiently. Through collaboration and continuous improvement, you will help reduce deployment risk, strengthen service resilience and enable engineering teams to deliver value to customers faster.

As a 12-month fixed-term contract, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on key business-critical projects while working with modern technologies and a highly collaborative engineering team.

    What you will be doing:

    * Designing, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines that support safe, repeatable and auditable software releases.

    * Automating build, deployment, configuration and environment management activities to reduce manual effort and improve delivery efficiency.

    * Working with engineering teams to improve branching strategies, build validation, deployment readiness and release governance processes.

    * Creating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, deployment scripts, reusable templates and configuration standards.

    * Enhancing observability through logging, monitoring, alerting, dashboards and operational telemetry.

    * Supporting service reliability, resilience and operational readiness through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Investigating deployment failures, incidents and recurring operational issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.

    * Embedding security, access control, secrets management and vulnerability management practices within delivery pipelines and deployment processes.

    * Maintaining and improving development, test and release environments to support efficient software delivery.

    * Supporting disaster recovery, business continuity and operational resilience activities.

    * Contributing to DevOps standards, best practices and communities of practice, helping teams adopt consistent and scalable ways of working.

    * Using operational and delivery metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate measurable business value.

    What we are looking for:

    * Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within enterprise environments.

    * Strong automation experience across build, deployment, configuration and environment management activities.

    * Experience working with source control, branching strategies, release management and modern software delivery practices.

    * Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git-based workflows and YAML-driven pipeline automation.

    * Experience with scripting and automation using technologies such as PowerShell, Python or Bash.

    * Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible or similar technologies.

    * Experience supporting enterprise applications, APIs, databases and service-oriented architectures.

    * Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Helm.

    * Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability solutions.

    * A solid understanding of operational resilience, deployment risk management, incident investigation and continuous improvement practices.

    * Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for reducing manual effort through automation.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operational and business teams.
