How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer?

Do you enjoy hands-on engineering and solving problems within a busy industrial operation?

this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client’s established industrial facility in Invergordon.

This is a varied role where no 2 days are the same. You’ll work across a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, carrying out everything from planned preventative maintenance through to fault finding, repairs and breakdown response.

    What makes this role attractive?

This isn’t simply a role where you are carrying out routine maintenance. You’ll have the opportunity to:

    * Work across a varied industrial maintenance environment.

    * Use your mechanical skills to diagnose and solve genuine engineering problems.

    * Work with a broad range of equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts and chains.

    * Get involved in planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.

    * Play a hands-on role in improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.

    * Contribute ideas and practical solutions through continuous improvement initiatives.

    Working Pattern

The role operates on a 4-week rotating pattern, working 12-hour shifts:

    Week 1
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
    Day Shift – 6:45am to 6:45pm

    Week 2
    Wednesday & Thursday
    Day Shift – 6:45am to 6:45pm

    Week 3
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
    Night Shift – 6:45pm to 6:45am

    Week 4
    Wednesday & Thursday
    Night Shift – 6:45pm to 6:45am

The structured rotation provides regular blocks of time away from work making this an attractive pattern for someone who values predictable time off!

    The Role

    * Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

    * Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise production downtime.

    * Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    * Maintaining and repairing pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts and chains.

    * Carrying out welding, cutting and grinding activities where required.

    * Supporting machinery and equipment installations, modifications and improvements.

    * Responding to breakdowns and technical issues in a safe and effective manner.

    * Identifying potential issues before they become major problems.

    * Working alongside Production colleagues to maximise plant availability and operational efficiency.

    * Contributing to maintenance meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Following all relevant risk assessments, permits to work and safe systems of work
