How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lift Engineer

    Lift Repairs, Lift Industry, Lift Repair Engineer

    Brentwood, Essex

    Basic Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience & qualifications)

    Marmon Lift Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected independent lift company operating throughout Essex, London and the South East.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lift Repair Engineer looking to focus exclusively on repair work, joining a business with a dedicated in-house repairs department, strong technical support and an excellent reputation for quality workmanship.

    The Lift Engineer Role

    Carry out planned and reactive repair work across a range of passenger and goods lifts.
    Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
    Complete repairs arising from LOLER examinations, breakdowns, component wear and equipment defects.
    Replace and repair lift components including motors, gearboxes, ropes, door operators, controllers and associated equipment.
    Carry out larger repair and refurbishment works while ensuring lifts are returned to reliable operation.
    Ensure all repair work is completed in accordance with current lift regulations, safety standards and company procedures.
    Complete repair documentation accurately and provide clear updates on works completed and any further recommendations.
    Work independently across London with full support from an experienced repairs management and technical team.

    Ideal Lift Engineer Candidate

    Currently working as a Lift Repair Engineer, Lift Modernisation Engineer, Lift Installation Engineer or an experienced Lift Engineer with strong repair experience.
    Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent) in Lift Engineering.
    Proven experience completing major and minor repairs across a variety of lift equipment.
    Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
    Confident working on a range of manufacturers and lift systems.
    Able to work independently, diagnose problems and determine the correct repair solution.
    Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working on customer sites.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
