How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

An established engineering operation is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer / Engineering Team Leader to join the team and take a lead role across the site's maintenance and engineering activities.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career, providing day-to-day leadership to a small engineering team while remaining hands-on technically.

You'll be responsible for coordinating a team of three engineers, organising maintenance activities and shift cover, supporting PPM, and helping ensure all mechanical, electrical, plant and building systems remain safe, compliant and operational.

    The Role

Delegate engineering tasks and organise shift/rota arrangements.
Remain hands-on with mechanical and electrical maintenance and fault finding.
Manage and maintain the site's planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme.
Ensure mechanical, electrical, plant, equipment and building issues are dealt with promptly.

Support the training and development of engineers within the team.
Promote good Health & Safety standards and lead by example.
Act as a keyholder and provide an emergency/on-call response when required.
Support the wider operation with ad-hoc engineering requirements.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer who is confident taking responsibility and leading from the front.

You don't need to be a traditional Engineering Manager. This role would suit someone who is currently a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Chargehand or Engineering Team Leader and is looking for greater responsibility.

    You'll ideally have experience with:

    Mechanical & electrical maintenance
    PPM systems and maintenance planning
Leading or coordinating a small engineering team
Delegating workloads and organising shift cover
    Fault finding and reactive maintenance
    Health & Safety
    Plant and process equipment
    Statutory compliance
    Supporting installations and commissioning

    Career Development

This is a role with genuine scope to develop your engineering leadership skills. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day engineering function, develop the team around you and progress your career as the department grows.

    The Package

    Up to £48,000 salary
Overtime paid at 1.5x, with enhanced rates for Sundays and Saturday overtime after 4 hours
22 days' holiday + bank holidays
