How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Repairs Planner

    Location: Walton-on-Thames
    Contract: Temporary to Permanent
    Pay Rate: £17.84 per hour Umbrella
    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Fully Office Based

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy property services team based in Walton-on-Thames.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience within social housing, property maintenance or repairs who is looking to secure a long-term position with the potential to move into a permanent role.

    As a Repairs Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling repairs appointments, ensuring jobs are allocated to the appropriate operatives and that customers receive an efficient and responsive service.

    You will work closely with operatives, residents, contractors and internal teams to ensure repairs are planned effectively and completed within the required timescales.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance appointments.
    Allocate jobs to the appropriate operatives based on location, skills and availability.
    Manage and update the repairs scheduling system.
    Liaise with residents to arrange suitable appointments.
    Communicate with operatives throughout the day to manage workloads and changes.
    Monitor outstanding repairs and ensure jobs are progressed within agreed timescales.
    Reschedule appointments where required and minimise missed appointments.
    Deal with customer queries relating to repairs and appointments.
    Liaise with contractors and internal departments where necessary.
    Prioritise emergency and urgent repairs appropriately.
    Ensure all repair information is accurately recorded and updated.
    Monitor operative diaries and maximise productivity.
    Identify and escalate any issues that could impact service delivery.
    Provide general administrative support to the repairs and property services team.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a Repairs Planning, Scheduling, Housing or Property Maintenance environment.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Repairs Planner, Repairs Scheduler, Maintenance Coordinator or similar.
    Experience working within social housing, housing maintenance or property services.
    Strong organisational and time-management skills.
    Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing demands.
    Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
    Good IT skills and experience using repairs or housing management systems.
    The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
    A proactive approach to problem-solving.
    The confidence to liaise with residents, operatives and contractors
