How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Junior Merchandiser | Manchester - Hybrid | £30,000-£40,000 depending on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven Junior Merchandiser to join an incredibly successful and fast-paced consumer business.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is hungry to learn, enjoys working at pace and wants genuine exposure to all areas of merchandising and the wider commercial operation.

Reporting directly into the Head of Merchandising, you'll be involved in everything from planning and pricing through to trading meetings, stock decisions and supplier management. No two days will be the same, and you'll have the opportunity to build a really strong understanding of the full merchandising process.

    What You'll Be Doing:

Support planning and range decisions, reviewing what stock is needed and when

Analyse sales and stock data to identify opportunities and risks

Review the buy and make recommendations on stock requirements

Support pricing, promotions and sign-off processes

Reforecast and manage stock to maximise sales and profitability

Review WSSI and contribute to trading decisions

Attend trading meetings and play an active role in commercial sign-offs

Manage critical paths, ensuring products are ordered and delivered on time

Work closely with suppliers, including factories across the Far East

Analyse best and worst sellers and turn data into clear commercial actions

Work closely with Buying, Planning, Digital and Supply Chain teams

    About You:

Experience in a Senior AM, Junior Merchandiser or similar planning/merchandising role

Previous planning experience with a good understanding of stock and range management

Confident working with pricing, planning and commercial data

Strong Excel skills and comfortable running and analysing large data sets

Experience working with overseas suppliers, ideally across the Far East

Highly detail-oriented and organised, with excellent attention to detail

Commercially curious and genuinely interested in understanding what sells and why

Hungry to learn and keen to develop a broad understanding of the industry

Confident communicator who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
