How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £42,000-£48,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Solar Training + Flexible Working + Home Working + Work-Life Balance + Expenses + 25 Days Holiday + Pension!

    Are you a commercial electrician looking to come off the tools and move into a surveying role within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector, where you will receive full training on solar PV systems and long-term job security within a future-proof industry?

    On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-national company at the forefront of solar energy, working with schools across the UK to install and maintain solar PV systems.

    This established and growing business installs solar PV systems on schools, manages long-term asset contracts, and consults on GB energy schemes. They are now looking for a Field Engineer to join them and help shape the future of renewable energy in education.

    In this role, you will carry out site surveys, pre-installation visits, fault finding, system commissioning, and annual inspections across a patch covering Birmingham southwards. You'll be on the road 2-3 days per week with the remainder spent working from home writing reports and liaising with contractors.

    The ideal candidate will be a qualified commercial electrician ready to step away from the tools and progress their career within the renewable energy sector. They will need to be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check and have a flexible attitude to travel.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercial electrician to transition into a growing company within renewable energy, gaining industry-recognised solar training and joining a forward-thinking company.

    The Role:

    * Carry out site surveys, pre-installation visits and system commissioning
    * Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repair work
    * Solar training provided
    * 2-3 days on site per week, remainder from home
    * Van and fuel card provided, all expenses covered

    The Person:

    * Commercial electrician background (looking to come off the tools)
    * Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check
    * Flexible to travel 2 to 3 days a week
    * Comfortable being client facing
    * Full UK driving licence
