How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This would suit an experienced Gas Engineer looking for a permanent, predominantly service-based position with consistent Monday-to-Friday hours and the opportunity to earn additional income through call-outs and overtime.

    The Role
    Your responsibilities will include:

Predominantly carrying out planned servicing of domestic gas boilers
Carrying out boiler safety checks as required

Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with current gas regulations
Completing all relevant job sheets and compliance documentation
Providing a professional and customer-focused service
Managing your workload effectively across Norwich and the surrounding areas
Participating in a 1-in-4 week call-out rota, with additional payment
    What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Domestic Gas Service Engineer
    Strong domestic boiler servicing experience
Previous domestic boiler breakdown and fault-finding experience
Ability to confidently diagnose and repair boiler faults when attending call-outs
Current ACS qualifications covering the servicing, fault-finding and repair of domestic boilers
    Appropriate current Gas Safe competencies
    Full UK driving licence
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Experience working within social housing, housing associations, local authority contracts or domestic maintenance would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

    What's on Offer

    £39,320 - £44,235 basic salary
    Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
1-in-4 week call-out rota with generous additional payment
    Overtime opportunities
    Company van
    Fuel card
    Company equipment
    Ongoing training and development
    Permanent, full-time position
If you're an experienced Domestic Gas Service Engineer based in Norwich or the surrounding areas with strong boiler servicing experience and the ability to handle breakdowns when on call, we'd be keen to hear from you
