How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are working with an established bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturer looking to appoint an experienced Production / Workshop Manager to oversee the smooth running of its workshop operations.

    The role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge of cabinetmaking and bespoke joinery who is comfortable managing skilled tradespeople, production programmes, quality and workshop performance.

    Responsibilities

    Manage workflow across all workshop production departments
    Plan production around agreed project and installation programmes
    Allocate and brief work to cabinet makers and production staff
    Monitor workshop capacity, labour requirements and production progress
    Identify and resolve delays, technical issues and production risks
    Lead production meetings and provide progress updates
    Review drawings and production information before manufacture
    Advise on manufacturing methods, materials, sequencing and buildability
    Oversee quality control throughout the manufacturing process
    Manage rework and investigate recurring quality issues
    Coordinate outsourced items including upholstery, metalwork and specialist finishes
    Monitor materials, stock, machinery and workshop equipment
    Maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment
    Lead, mentor and develop workshop staff
    Take responsibility for workshop health and safety procedures

    Requirements

    Previous Production Manager, Workshop Manager or Manufacturing Manager experience
    Background within bespoke joinery, furniture manufacture or high-quality interiors manufacturing
    Strong knowledge of cabinetmaking and joinery production methods
    Ability to read detailed construction drawings and Bills of Materials
    Experience managing skilled workshop teams
    Strong production planning and organisational skills
    Good understanding of quality control procedures
    Appropriate health and safety knowledge or training
    Comfortable using Microsoft Office and production or project management systemsThis is a strong opportunity for an experienced workshop professional looking to take ownership of production within a high-quality bespoke manufacturing environment
