How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    VGC Group are currently recruiting for a Steel Fixer to join a project based in Hickling, Norfolk.

    This is a great opportunity for a reliable and hard-working individual looking for work, and to gain experience with a Tier 1 client. The successful candidate will be able to work well as part of a team, and support site operations to keep the project running safely and efficiently.

    Pay Rate: £21.25 per hour PAYE.
    Monday - Friday 07:00 - 17:00

    Please note Lodge and Travel payment is not available for this role. NPORS is NOT accepted on this site, to be suitable for this role you must have a CPCS/CSCS card.

    Your responsibilities may include:
    - Read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type, quantity, and placement.
    - Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using cutting and bending tools or machinery.
    - Position and secure rebar in concrete forms using wire, clips, or welds.
    - Place spacers and chairs to ensure the rebar is positioned correctly and maintains the required spacing.
    - Identify and correct any issues or discrepancies in the reinforcement layout.
    - Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
    - Supporting site teams with day to day operations
    - Ensuring work areas are maintained safely and efficiently

    To be considered for this role, you must have:
    - A valid CSCS Card
    - Previous experience in this role
    - A good work ethic and positive attitude
    - The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
    - Good punctuality and reliability
    - Right to work in the UK
