How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Company

    Centronic, now part of Exosens, is a long established successful specialist manufacturing engineering SME serving customers in high reliability sectors which include the regulated and demanding nuclear, defense and aerospace markets. The Company specialises in designing and manufacturing detector products across a diverse range of applications for UK and export markets. Our success is delivered by a team of ninety people deploying specialist skills in diverse, challenging markets that underpin key national and international energy, medical and security activities.

    About the role

    We are looking for an experienced TIG Welder/Technician to join our team, welding and assembling precision components to high standards and customer specifications.

    Role responsibilities

    * TIG weld stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, titanium, nickel and other exotic materials.

    * Carry out precision welding using lathes, turntables and semi-automated equipment.

    * Perform laser welding where required.

    * Work from engineering drawings, weld specifications and assembly procedures.

    * Weld material thicknesses typically ranging from 0.5mm to 10mm.

    * Work to tight tolerances, including straightness and concentricity requirements.

    * Support weld procedure development and third-party welding approvals.

    * Complete manufacturing documentation and maintain high standards of traceability.

    * Support welding and assembly activities across Production, including occasional off-site work.

    * Maintain and carry out basic checks and calibration of welding equipment and tools.

    About You

    We are looking for someone with:

    * Proven TIG welding experience.

    * Excellent hand and eye coordination and attention to detail.

    * The ability to work accurately to procedures, drawings and specifications.

    * Good problem-solving skills.

    * A reliable, professional and team-focused approach.

    * Basic computer skills.

    Experience with precision welding, exotic materials, laser welding or certified welding procedures would be advantageous.
