How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Carmichael UK is working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects at Hinkley Point C.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a high-performing delivery team responsible for the safe and successful execution of major civil engineering works. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a nationally significant project that will shape the UK's future energy infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    Support the Project Manager and Agent in the delivery of construction works.

    Manage site activities to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

    Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

    Produce and review RAMS, ITPs, and construction programmes.

    Monitor progress, report on performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

    Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements.

    Manage temporary works, permits, and site documentation.

    Support commercial and contractual requirements, including change management and cost control.

    Drive a positive safety culture across the project.

    Requirements

    Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

    Previous experience working as a Sub Agent, Senior Section Engineer, or equivalent.

    Strong background delivering major infrastructure, nuclear, highways, rail, or heavy civil engineering projects.

    Experience managing engineering and delivery teams on large-scale construction projects.

    Sound knowledge of NEC contracts.

    SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred.

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
