New Chapter Tuition is recruiting exclusively on behalf of a specialist independent school in Southwark for an energetic and resilient Pastoral Assistant.
We’re looking for someone with a background in sports coaching, PE, physical activity or youth work who can use sport and engaging activities to build positive relationships with young people.
You’ll support students with SEMH, SEN, autism, ADHD, anxiety and trauma, providing day-to-day pastoral support while helping to plan and deliver sports, physical and enrichment sessions that promote confidence, teamwork, emotional regulation and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group pastoral support

Plan and lead sports and enrichment activities
*
Build positive and consistent relationships with students
*
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
*
Use de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches
About You:
*
Experience in sports coaching, PE, youth work or similar
*
At least 1 year’s experience working with children or young people
*
Confident planning and leading activities
*
SEN/SEMH experience is highly desirable
*
Resilient, proactive and relationship-focused
