How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering major AMP8 water programmes across the UK. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support the design and delivery of non-infrastructure water projects including water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs, and associated civil infrastructure. Candidates with infrastructure water experience will also be considered.
Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and design documentation.
Develop detailed designs for treatment facilities, pumping stations, reservoirs, process tanks, drainage systems, and associated civil infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, quality requirements, and health & safety legislation.
Review contractor and supplier technical submissions.
Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practice.

    Requirements

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, or MSc).
Experience delivering civil engineering design projects within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
Experience on non-infrastructure water projects such as WTWs, WWTWs, pumping stations, reservoirs, process tanks, and associated civil infrastructure.
Infrastructure water experience including pipelines, trunk mains, rising mains, and water networks is also relevant.
Experience within regulated water utility environments and AMP frameworks is advantageous.
