How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Site Engineer – Swindon

    Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
    Project: Industrial Unit
    Project Duration: Approximately 3 weeks
    Start Date: 24 August
    Position: Site Engineer
    Contract Type: Short-term contract

    Role Overview

    We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a project in Swindon, starting on 24 August.

    This is an approximately 3-week opportunity for a Site Engineer with strong setting-out and groundworks/civil engineering experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the site team to ensure works are completed accurately, safely and in line with project requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Setting out works accurately in accordance with drawings and specifications.

    * Carrying out levels, measurements and site surveys.

    * Reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical information.

    * Establishing and maintaining site control points and benchmarks.

    * Checking completed works against design specifications and required tolerances.

    * Working closely with the Site Manager and site operatives.

    * Providing engineering support and resolving technical issues on site.

    * Monitoring the quality and accuracy of works throughout the project.

    * Maintaining accurate site records and documentation.

    * Supporting the wider site team as required.

    * Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on construction, civil engineering or groundworks projects.

    * Strong setting-out and surveying skills.

    * Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

    * Experience using relevant surveying equipment.

    * Good attention to detail and accuracy.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.

    * Relevant site qualifications and CSCS certification.

    * Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
