How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Draughtsman

    Norwich

    £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

    Staffing Innovations are working with a super star of an employer specialising in engineering and manufacturing in Norwich.

    We are seeking a skilled Draughtsman Design Engineer with Solidworks to manage and maintain the SolidWorks environment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and user support. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing CAD systems, providing user support, and collaborating with engineering and IT teams to enhance the clients processes, develop and maintain existing CAD data, build CAD libraries of standard assemblies and generate CAD documentation such as explodes and floorplans.

    * Design or collate machine parts/assemblies as instructed

    * Be compliant and understand that not all needs to be redesigned. Reuse instead of redesign

    * Take full responsibility for tasks and projects from cradle to grave

    * Ensure design and project records are kept up to date

    * Rework Legacy CAD data to latest company standards

    * Comprehensive SolidWorks knowledge and a passion for CAD

    * Detailing of Drawings from models as required by design team

    * Produce exploded drawings of machine and assemblies

    * Assist with information for maintenance and user manuals for the company machinery

    * Maintain library of basic floor plans and layout to facilitate the sales process

    * A team player with high attention to detail, striving for perfection

    * Positive Interaction with design team and the company design review process

    The successful Draughtsman Design Engineer will have the following attributes:

    * Assisting qualified design engineers whilst building and developing your own skills and knowledge

    * Assisting qualified design engineers whilst building and developing your own skills and knowledge

    * Produce functional specifications as supporting data for electrical and control design activities

    * Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to read and create technical drawings.

    * Understanding of CNC machining, desired but not essential.

    * Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing, desired but not essential

    * Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook as well as basic computer skills.

    * Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A* to C including Math’s and English

    * Minimum level 3 qualification in CAD C&G or equivalent.

    * Site visits as required to fill the design function
