How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Clerk – Leeds

    Contract | Opportunity to Become Permanent

    Vital Human Resources are currently recruiting for a Technical Clerk to join our prestigious rail client in Leeds.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and analytical individual to join a leading organisation within the rail industry. The position is initially offered on a contract basis, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to move into a permanent position.

    You’ll provide essential technical and administrative support to an engineering team, helping to ensure technical information, records and project documentation are accurate, up to date and effectively managed.

    The Role

    As a Technical Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

    * Analysing and presenting data to support engineering recommendations and decision-making.

    * Providing technical and administrative support to the engineering team.

    * Locating, collating and maintaining technical data and records.

    * Maintaining technical publications, data and engineering records.

    * Assisting with the preparation of reports, documentation and other required project outputs.

    * Managing and maintaining key project engineering registers.

    * Supporting engineering and project teams with accurate and timely information.

    * Ensuring technical documentation and records are maintained to a high standard.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical and confident working with technical information.

    Essential:

    * Knowledge of a relevant technical function or engineering activity.

    * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills.

    * The ability to manage and maintain accurate technical information and records.

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a wider engineering/project team.

    Desirable:

    * Knowledge or experience of the operational railway.

    * Knowledge of other railway engineering disciplines.

    * Knowledge of railway signalling engineering would be advantageous.

    * Previous experience within a rail, engineering or technical environment.
