How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Converting sketches, specifications and other design information into accurate 2D models.

    * Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and guidance.

    * Reviewing and revising drawings in response to feedback from colleagues and clients.

    * Preparing design-related documentation and reports.

    * Maintaining an organised library of drawings, templates and design files.

    * Supporting the bid management team with the preparation and costing of compliant tenders.

    * Carrying out feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed designs.

    * Specifying, designing and planning electrical installations in accordance with current British Standards, regulations and industry guidance, including BS 7671, BS 5839, BS 5266, Building Regulations and CIBSE Guides.

    * Providing technical support and guidance to project teams.

    About You

We are looking for someone who has:

    * At least 2 years’ experience in an electrical design environment.

    * Experience working on commercial electrical projects.

    * Good working knowledge of CAD and 2D electrical design.

    * Experience with, or an understanding of, DIALux and Amtech.

    * Knowledge of relevant British Standards, regulations and guidance, particularly BS 7671.

    * Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to design.

    * The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and design information.

    * Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

    * A willingness to learn, develop and take on increasing technical responsibility.

You’ll join an established business with a long history in the electrical sector and a clear focus on continued growth. The role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of commercial projects across the UK while developing your technical and design expertise.

If you’re an ambitious Electrical Designer looking for your next step, we’d like to hear from you.
