How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

As a Part-Time Payroll Administrator, you will play a crucial part in ensuring temporary workers are paid accurately and on time every week. You'll collaborate with recruitment consultants, candidates, and clients to resolve queries and ensure precise processing of all information within tight deadlines.

Your working hours will be 9:00 to 16:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Enjoy hybrid flexibility: work from home on Mondays, and join the team in the Oldbury office on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a permanent, part-time position, with a pro rata salary of £15,900 per annum (based on a full-time equivalent of £26,500).

    Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll information efficiently and within deadlines
    Check and process candidate timesheets

Liaise with umbrella companies and external payroll providers as needed
Identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll deadlines
    Produce and check payroll reports
Support the wider administration and recruitment team where required
Ensure confidential payroll and personal information is handled appropriately

    Skills and Experience

Previous experience in payroll, finance, or administration
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong numerical and IT skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines under pressure
Confident in dealing with queries via telephone and email
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively
Experience in recruitment, temporary staffing, or weekly payroll is advantageous (training will be provided if needed)

    About the Team

You will be joining a friendly, expanding team focused exclusively on the education sector, working with a wide range of schools and settings across the West Midlands. You’ll be supported in your career development and valued for your contribution to the business.

If you are an organised, detail-focused administrator seeking a rewarding part-time opportunity in a welcoming and supportive environment, this role could be the perfect fit. Suitable candidates are encouraged to apply and help make a positive impact within education recruitment
