How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Regional Business Development Manager | Financial Services
North UK | Permanent | £60,000–£75,000 DOE + Bonus + Monthly Car Allowance

Ready to Make Your Mark in the North?
Are you an experienced Business Development Manager or Broker Consultant within UK financial services, with a strong understanding of investments and a proven track record of building relationships with financial advisers and intermediaries?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established organisation and take ownership of a key North UK territory, developing your network, winning new business and making a real impact on commercial growth.
You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own territory, diary and pipeline, while working closely with internal teams to deliver the wider commercial strategy.

    The Role
This is a genuinely market-facing position, combining face-to-face meetings, telephone and video engagement.
    You’ll be responsible for:

Developing and converting new business opportunities
Building and growing relationships with financial advisers, brokers, intermediaries and professional distribution partners
Managing and developing your regional territory and network
Identifying new opportunities and growing existing relationships
Presenting propositions and solutions to advisers and senior stakeholders
Keeping up to date with market developments and competitor activity
Sharing market insight with internal teams
Managing your own diary, pipeline and priorities
Attending relevant industry events, adviser meetings and networking opportunities
Working collaboratively with internal teams to maximise commercial opportunities
Travel across the North will be an important part of the role, with some additional UK travel required.

    What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for someone who already understands the UK financial-services distribution market and can build credibility quickly with financial advisers and professional intermediaries.
You’ll ideally have experience as a Broker Consultant, Business Development Manager, Intermediary Sales professional or in a similar adviser-facing commercial role.
    You’ll bring:

Proven business development experience within UK financial services
Direct experience working with financial advisers, brokers, intermediaries or professional distribution partners
Strong understanding of financial-services distribution and the adviser market
Good knowledge of investments, wealth products and/or investment propositions
A proven track record of winning and developing new business
Strong relationship management, influencing and presentation skills
Commercial awareness and a results-focused approach
The confidence and self-motivation to manage your own territory
A willingness to travel regularly across the North
Experience within investment platforms, asset management, fund management, wealth management, investment providers or intermediary sales would be particularly relevant.
Relevant knowledge of the UK regulatory environment would also be advantageous.

    Why This Opportunity?
This is more than simply another sales role. You’ll have the opportunity to:

Own your territory and build your presence across the North
Develop high-value relationships within the adviser and intermediary market
Drive new business and directly contribute to commercial growth
Work autonomously while being supported by an established commercial team
Build your reputation and network within the financial-services market

    Interested?
If you’re an experienced Financial Services BDM or Broker Consultant who knows the adviser market, enjoys building genuine commercial relationships and is motivated by winning new business, I’d love to hear from you.
