How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Lincoln. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and looking to build a rewarding career within education.

You will be working within SEN settings supporting pupils with a range of needs, including MLD, PMLD, SEMH and behavioural needs. Some pupils may also require complex care, so confidence, patience and a caring approach are essential.

    The Role

Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support.
Helping pupils to engage with learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Assisting with personal care and complex care needs where required.
Working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

    The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working in an SEN, education, care or support-based role is highly desirable.
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
Patient, empathetic and resilient, with a calm approach to challenging situations.
Confident supporting pupils with behavioural, communication and complex needs.
Able to work effectively as part of a wider team.
Reliable and committed to working full-time, Monday to Friday.
Willing to work on a supply basis initially, with the opportunity to secure a full-time, permanent position.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within specialist education while potentially securing a long-term, permanent role.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
