How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire Safety Team Leader
    Permanent

    We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Team Leader to lead a team of Fire Safety Technicians and Electrical Engineers, ensuring fire safety compliance across a social housing environment.

    This is a key role where you'll oversee fire risk assessments, inspections, contractors and improvement projects, while managing risk, driving performance and helping to ensure residents live in safe homes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of 8 fire safety professionals.
    Manage the Fire Risk Assessment programme and ensure remedial actions are completed within agreed timescales.
    Oversee fire door, emergency lighting, fire alarm and other safety inspection programmes.
    Manage a fire safety budget of approximately £600k.
    Manage contractors, consultants and fire safety improvement projects.
    Develop project specifications and support procurement activities.
    Maintain accurate compliance records and produce management reports.
    Support the development of fire strategies, policies and procedures.
    Deputise for the Fire Safety Manager when required.
    Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety legislation and landlord responsibilities.

    About You

    You'll have:

    Experience reviewing Fire Risk Assessments and allocating remedial actions.
    Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
    Experience working within social housing or a similar environment.
    Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Strong organisational and project management abilities.
    A relevant qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, HNC/HND Fire Safety Engineering or Level 4 Fire Safety Risk Assessor/Auditor.
    The ability to analyse data and produce clear management reports.
