TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary special school in Clevedon supporting students aged 11 to 19 who hold an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP. The school is an inspirational and inclusive community that nurtures individual talents, shares learning and celebrates achievement, supporting students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties / PMLD, physical disabilities and autism to prepare for adulthood.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time, temporary Science Teacher from September. The successful Science Teacher will plan and deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons, adapting teaching to meet individual needs while working closely with support staff to promote progress, independence and positive learning experiences.
The successful Science Teacher will have:
• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status with experience teaching Science
• Experience teaching or supporting young people with SEND and complex additional needs
• Knowledge of adapting and differentiating learning to meet individual needs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with support staff
• A patient, inclusive and adaptable approach to teaching
