How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Manager

    Are you an experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in high-rise residential developments and a thorough understanding of the Building Safety Act and Gateway process

    We are working with a leading residential developer who are looking for a Technical Manager to deliver a significant scheme in South Wimbledon based out of an office in Crawley. They are looking to appoint a Technical Manager to take ownership of the project from early-stage design and planning submissions through to delivery and practical completion.

    Salary - £70k - £85k + Package

    Location - Crawley

    The Role

    As Technical Manager, you will lead the technical function on a complex residential development, managing the design process, consultant team, statutory approvals, and technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

    You will play a critical role in ensuring the scheme meets all regulatory requirements, including Building Safety Act compliance and Gateway submissions, while driving programme, quality, and commercial objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the technical delivery of a high-rise residential scheme from inception to completion.

    Lead and coordinate external consultants, architects, engineers, and specialist advisors.

    Oversee planning amendments, discharge of conditions, Section Agreements, and statutory approvals.

    Prepare and manage Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 submissions in line with the Building Safety Act requirements.

    Act as the key liaison with the Building Safety Regulator and relevant authorities.

    Review and coordinate design information to ensure compliance, buildability, and programme requirements.

    Work closely with Construction, Commercial, Sales, and Planning teams to support project objectives.

    Manage technical risks, design changes, and value engineering exercises where appropriate.

    Ensure all design information is delivered on time and to the required quality standards.

    Support the project through construction, completion, and handover.

    Requirements

    Proven experience working as a Technical Manager or Design Manager within a residential developer or contractor environment.

    Strong track record delivering high-rise residential developments.

    Comprehensive understanding of the Building Safety Act and the Gateway submission process.

    Experience managing projects from pre-construction and planning stages through to practical completion.

    Excellent consultant management and stakeholder engagement skills.

    Sound knowledge of current Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and residential construction practices.

    Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
