How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Swindon
    Salary: £52,000 Basic Salary | OTE £56,000+
    Hours: 42.5 Hours Per Week
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    The Role
    As an MET Technician / Strip & Fit Technician, you'll play a crucial role in the repair process, ensuring vehicles are safely and accurately restored to their pre-accident condition.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    ·Removing mechanical, electrical and trim components prior to panel repairs
    ·Stripping and refitting vehicle components
    ·Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault-finding
    ·Identifying damaged or defective components
    ·Ordering replacement parts where required
    ·Reassembling vehicles following repairs
    ·Ensuring vehicles are returned to pre-accident condition
    ·Carrying out four-wheel geometry and wheel alignment
    ·Undertaking ADAS calibration and related checks
    ·Carrying out vehicle diagnostics using specialist equipment
    ·Working with modern vehicle technology and repair systems
    ·Completing quality checks to ensure repairs meet required standards
    ·Maintaining accurate repair documentation
    ·Working closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and other members of the repair team
     
    About You
    We're looking for a highly experienced technician who takes genuine pride in their workmanship and is committed to delivering exceptional results.
    You will ideally have:
    ·Extensive experience as an MET Technician, Strip & Fit Technician, Vehicle MET Technician or Bodyshop Technician
    ·Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
    ·Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    ·Experience with vehicle geometry and wheel alignment
    ·Knowledge of ADAS systems and calibration
    ·Experience using modern diagnostic and workshop equipment
    ·Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
    ·A conscientious and reliable approach to your work
    ·The ability to work effectively as part of a team
    ·A genuine desire to continue learning new repair techniques and technologies
