How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working as part of an established facilities engineering team, you will help ensure all electrical systems, plant and building services remain safe, reliable and fully operational.

    The role offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000, regular overtime opportunities, excellent benefits and ongoing training and development.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

    * Diagnose, fault-find and repair electrical building services and installations.

    * Maintain lighting systems, power distribution, emergency lighting and associated electrical equipment.

    * Carry out inspection, testing and repairs in accordance with current electrical regulations and site procedures.

    * Assist with the maintenance and operation of fire alarm systems, control systems and other critical building services.

    * Support the wider engineering team with maintenance of HVAC plant, pumps, motors, BMS controls and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.

    * Respond efficiently to breakdowns and reactive maintenance requests, ensuring faults are diagnosed and resolved effectively.

    * Complete statutory compliance checks and routine inspections.

    * Accurately record completed maintenance activities, faults and repairs using a CAFM system.

    * Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health & safety requirements, company procedures and relevant legislation.

    * Work closely with colleagues, contractors and the wider facilities management team to maintain high standards across the site.

    * Provide a professional and customer-focused service to site stakeholders.

    Candidate Requirements

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a relevant electrical qualification.

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * Proven experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

    * Previous experience within commercial facilities maintenance or a similar building services environment.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

    * Experience working with electrical distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and building services.

    * A good understanding of statutory compliance and safe working practices.

    * The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider engineering team.

    * A proactive and professional approach to maintenance and customer service.

    What We Offer

    * Up to £40,000 basic salary

    * Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

    * Permanent position on a prestigious static site

    * Overtime opportunities

    * Excellent company benefits

    * Ongoing technical training and career development

    * Long-term career progression

    * Stable working environment with an established engineering team

    Why Apply?

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who wants to move into a stable, long-term static position within a professional facilities management environment.

    The site provides a varied and technically interesting environment, giving engineers exposure to a broad range of electrical systems and building services while maintaining a predictable Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
