How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Join the Department for Transport's Digital, Information and Security Directorate and play a vital role in ensuring new and enhanced digital services are successfully introduced into live operation. As a Lead Service Transition Manager, you will coordinate the people, processes and activities needed to deliver smooth, effective and sustainable service transitions.
    Working within the Essentials Service Line, you'll lead service transition activities across a range of projects and programmes, collaborating with suppliers, operational teams and stakeholders to ensure services are fully prepared for live use. You'll oversee transition planning, manage risks and dependencies, and help ensure services meet operational, technical and business requirements before go-live. You will lead and be supported by a team of 7 to undertake the different aspects required of the role.
    You'll work across multidisciplinary teams to improve service readiness, support change and release activities, bring FinOps best practice and champion best practice in service management. The world does not stop at readiness, ongoing provide leadership to the digital experience and adoption of services, supporting the customer base and manage both internal and external teams via Supplier Management and Service Level Management. Using your leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, you'll help create a consistent and effective approach to service transition while driving continuous improvement across the service lifecycle.

    * Planning and co-ordinating resources to ensure that services are effectively transitioned into service operations.
    * Being responsible for the co-ordination activities across projects, suppliers and service teams.
    * Manage the flow of change into the production estate, ensuring suitable diligence and preparation have been performed.
    * Lead the customer experience, helping to identify service improvement opportunities and aid the digital adoption of services and tools to help extract the value from investment.
