How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You'll begin by learning the warehouse and production processes before developing your skills across all areas of the operation, including goods-in, stock control, barley intake, steeping, germination and roasting. No previous malting experience is required – full training will be provided by our experienced team.

Over time, you'll become a versatile member of the production team with opportunities to take on greater responsibility, develop new skills and progress into a variety of roles as the business continues to grow.

    * Pack, label and prepare finished products for dispatch.

    * Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.

    * Operate stock control systems to move materials between production and storage.

    * Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, once trained and authorised.

    * Complete production, stock and traceability records accurately.

    * Assist with stock counts and inventory control.

    * Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across warehouse and production areas.

    * Report damaged stock, equipment faults or safety concerns promptly.

    * Learn to receive, handle and store raw materials.

    * Support the steeping, germination and roasting processes while monitoring production against quality specifications.

    * Operate and monitor production equipment, ensuring process parameters are maintained.

    * Transfer products safely throughout the manufacturing process while maintaining full product traceability.

    * Carry out routine quality checks and record production data accurately.

    * Clean and maintain machinery and production equipment to food safety and hygiene standards.

    * Identify and report process or equipment issues to minimise downtime.

    Quality, Safety & Teamwork

    * Follow all food safety, quality assurance and traceability procedures.

    * Comply with Health & Safety policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

    * Wear the required PPE and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

    * Work collaboratively with colleagues across warehouse and production teams.

    * Contribute ideas to improve safety, efficiency and product quality.

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in doing the job well. You'll be reliable, hardworking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

You should be physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling throughout the working day, be computer literate and able to complete production and stock records accurately. A full UK driving licence and your own transport are essential due to our location.

You'll have excellent attention to detail, be committed to producing high-quality work and be willing to learn new skills across different areas of the business. Forklift experience, stock control knowledge and an understanding of Health & Safety procedures within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

    What We Offer

    * Permanent, full-time position.
