How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mathematics Teacher Oldham
    £170–£235 per day
    Full-time | Long-term contract | September 2026

    Smile Education is recruiting a qualified Mathematics Teacher for a full-time, long-term position within an Oldham secondary school from September 2026.
    You will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, including preparing pupils for GCSE Mathematics. The opportunity is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs, although QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification is essential.
    The school offers a supportive, values-led environment with high expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil progress. This is an opportunity to join an established Maths department and contribute to a positive and ambitious school community.

    The role As the Mathematics Teacher, you will:

    Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    Teach in line with the national curriculum.
    Prepare pupils for GCSE Mathematics.
    Assess and monitor progress, providing additional support or challenge where required.
    Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils of different abilities, including SEND.
    Maintain clear classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
    Contribute to the Maths department and wider school community.
    Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and professional standards.Essential requirements You must:

    Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
    For experienced teachers, have completed at least one full academic year in a long-term or permanent Mathematics teaching role within a UK secondary school.
    Have experience using White Rose Maths across KS3 and KS4 (desirable)QTS is essential. Applications from candidates without QTS will not be considered.

    Pay and benefits
    £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience, pay scale and responsibilities.
    Full-time, long-term role from September 2026.
