How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Critical Power Service Engineer / Generator Engineer

    Salary: Circa £40,000 Per Annum
    Job Type: Full-time
    Location: Hampshire based / Field-based
    Sector: Critical Power / Engineering

    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Power Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing independent provider of critical power solutions.

    The position is ideally suited to an experienced Generator Service Engineer looking to develop their career within the wider critical power sector.

    The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring customers’ critical power systems remain reliable, safe and operational. This is a field-based position involving travel to customer sites to service, maintain, test and repair generators, UPS systems and associated equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service, maintain, test and repair generators, UPS systems and associated critical power equipment.

    * Carry out fault-finding and diagnostics to identify and resolve equipment issues.

    * Conduct inspections, site surveys and load bank testing.

    * Support the installation and commissioning of critical power equipment.

    * Plan and supervise on-site works, ensuring all activities are completed safely and efficiently.

    * Provide technical support to customers and colleagues when required.

    * Complete accurate service reports and associated documentation.

    * Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated engineer with a background in generator servicing, maintenance or critical power.

    You will ideally have:

    * Hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding generators and/or other critical power equipment.

    * An engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.

    * Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

    * A professional and customer-focused approach.

    * A self-motivated, practical and adaptable attitude.

    * The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

    * A full UK driving licence.
