How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    FLT Driver

    Pay: £13.80 per hour

    Job Description:

    Major Recruitment are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our client operations team in Hoo, Rochester.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of stock, packaging materials, and finished products throughout our packhouse and storage facilities, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently.

    * Loading and unloading vehicles.

    * Moving stock, pallets, and materials within the warehouse, packhouse, and storage areas.

    * Supporting production teams by ensuring materials are available when required.

    * Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any faults.

    * Ensuring stock is stored correctly and safely.

    * Maintaining accurate records and following stock control procedures.

    * Adhering to all health and safety, food safety, and company policies.

    * Assisting with general warehouse and operational duties as required.

    What We're Looking For

    * Valid Forklift Truck licence (essential).

    * Previous forklift driving experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, agricultural, or food production environment.

    * Good awareness of health and safety procedures.

    * Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

    * Strong attention to detail.

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    * Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during peak seasons.

    Working Hours

    45 hours per week, across 5 working days.

    What We Offer

    * Starting rate of £13.80 per hour. Overtime at time and a quarter after 45 hours.

    * 45 hours per week, across 5 days with flexibility required between 07.00-24.00 (average day is 7am – 7pm)

    * 5 days in 7 but it would be a on rota system where the 2 days off would change (weekend working included)
