How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Senior Relationship Manager – Science & Manufacturing

    Salary: £40k - £43k

    Location: Remote

    About the Role

    Our client is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Relationship Manager – Science & Manufacturing to join their team as part of an exciting new business development project.

    The Senior Relationship Manager – Science & Manufacturing will play a key role in expanding our client’s existing apprenticeship offering within the science and manufacturing sectors. The primary objective of the role is to drive growth by creating new business opportunities and developing strong relationships with both new and existing employers.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Strategic Planning: Lead a new growth project to establish our client’s presence within strategically selected science and manufacturing apprenticeships, industries, and employer segments.

    * Develop Compelling Offers: Create attractive training packages for employers that support their workforce and talent development needs.

    * Expand Business Opportunities: Develop new business opportunities for Laboratory Technician, Science Manufacturing Technician, and Science Manufacturing Process Operative apprenticeship programmes.

    * Manage Customer Database: Establish and maintain a comprehensive and accurate customer database.

    * Cultivate Relationships: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.

    * Execute Outreach Campaigns: Conduct targeted outreach campaigns through cold calling, email and other channels to generate new business.

    * Support Talent Acquisition: Work closely with the talent acquisition team to support the fulfilment of vacancies for accounts within your portfolio.

    * Attend Networking Events: Represent our client at industry events, networking opportunities, webinars and other relevant activities to raise brand awareness and generate opportunities.

    Required Experience & Skills

    * Proven Sales Experience: Demonstrable experience in sales and account management within the science, manufacturing or related sectors.

    * Project Management Skills: Ability to provide insight into industry segmentation and establish clear objectives to achieve strategic milestones.

    * Track Record of Success: Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales and performance targets.

    * Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

    * Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.

    * Proactive Approach: A proactive, results-driven approach to business development and sales.

    * Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.

    * Technical Proficiency: Competent in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

    Key Responsibilities & Duties

    As Senior Relationship Manager – Science & Manufacturing, you will:

    * Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute strategic objectives to create a focused sales plan for growth across the science and manufacturing sectors.

    * Achieve Sales KPIs: Consistently meet or exceed agreed sales targets and key performance indicators.

    * Documentation & Compliance: Complete all required sales cycle documentation and ensure compliance with relevant inspections, audits and processes.

    * Build Long-Term Partnerships: Develop and maintain sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships with employers and clients.

    * Customer Analysis: Analyse customer requirements to understand their needs, objectives and purchasing rationale.

    * Promote Work-Based Learning: Consult with employers and communicate the benefits and value of work-based learning and apprenticeship programmes.

    * Provide Information, Advice & Guidance: Provide appropriate information, advice and guidance to learners and employers through regular meetings, webinars and written communication.

    * Secure New Customers: Lead business development activity to support our client’s growth targets by identifying and securing new employer accounts.

    * Identify & Close Business Opportunities: Identify, develop and successfully close new business opportunities.

    * Convert Inbound Leads: Follow up and convert inbound leads generated through marketing and other channels.

    * Prospect for Sales Leads: Generate new sales leads, targeting key sectors and geographical areas in line with funding streams and sales and marketing priorities.

    * Ethical & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with government funding requirements and uphold our client’s values, policies and procedures at all times.

    * Continuous Professional Development: Undertake ongoing CPD to ensure skills, knowledge and industry awareness remain current.
