Quantity Surveyor

We are working with an established and growing specialist main contractor delivering some of London’s most prestigious residential construction and refurbishment projects.

With a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, technical expertise and a highly collaborative approach, the business works on complex, high-value homes where attention to detail, commercial control and quality are paramount.

We are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and play a key role in the successful financial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a high-quality, detail-focused environment and wants to be involved in some genuinely interesting residential projects across London.

The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with Project Managers, site teams, clients, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the commercial performance of projects from procurement through to final account.
Preparing, reviewing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
Supporting the procurement and tendering of subcontract packages.
Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor quotations and appointments.
Managing variations, valuations, payment applications and change control.
Monitoring project costs and identifying potential commercial risks at an early stage.
Producing accurate financial reporting and providing clear commercial information to the wider project team.
Working closely with site and project teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned.
Managing subcontractor accounts and maintaining strong supply-chain relationships.
Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
Supporting value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality or design intent of the project.
Maintaining accurate commercial records and ensuring contractual processes are followed.
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. About You
We are looking for a commercially astute and proactive Quantity Surveyor who takes pride in the quality of their work and understands the importance of detail within high-end residential construction.
You will ideally have:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Experience working on high-end residential, luxury refurbishment or similarly complex projects.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
Experience with procurement, subcontract management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
The confidence to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and colleagues.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
A genuine interest in delivering exceptional quality and getting the detail right. Relevant qualifications such as BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline, together with professional membership or progression towards RICS, would be advantageous
