How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across London.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging commercial, residential and refurbishment projects. Working alongside experienced operational and technical teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the building services delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

    This position would suit an experienced Technical Services professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment, leading MEP delivery and building strong relationships with clients, consultants and specialist subcontractors.

    About the role

    Our client is seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee the coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health services across major projects in London.

    Reporting into the senior project leadership team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for MEP design coordination, subcontractor management, technical compliance, commissioning and handover, ensuring building services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and client expectations.

    The Technical Services Manager will work closely with the Project Manager, design team, commercial team and specialist subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

    Responsibilities for Technical Services Manager

    Lead the coordination and delivery of MEP services from pre-construction through to completion
    Manage MEP design coordination and ensure technical information is issued in line with programme requirements
    Review designs for compliance, buildability and value engineering opportunities
    Coordinate MEP subcontractors, consultants and specialist suppliers
    Monitor installation quality and ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications and approved drawings
    Manage technical submissions, RFIs and design development
    Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural packages
    Support procurement and commercial teams with technical package reviews
    Monitor progress against programme and identify potential technical or delivery risks
    Oversee testing, commissioning and successful handover of building services systems
    Attend client and consultant meetings and provide technical updates to senior project stakeholders
    Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
    Drive health, safety, quality and sustainability standards across all MEP activities
    Mentor and support junior members of the technical services team
    Promote continuous improvement and technical best practice across project deliveryRequirements

    Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, Building Services Manager, MEP Manager or similar
    Strong background delivering MEP packages within commercial construction, fit-out, refurbishment or residential environments
    Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
    Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health building services
    Demonstrable experience managing MEP subcontractors and specialist supply chains
    Good understanding of design coordination, QA/QC and commissioning processes
    Ability to interpret technical drawings and identify coordination and buildability issues
    Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
    Relevant qualification in Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Construction
    SMSTS and CSCS desirable
    Professional membership or chartered status advantageousWhat our client offers
