How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Manager

    LOCATION: Hull, East Yorkshire
    SALARY: Excellent Salary & Benefits

Are you an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong design background, excellent attention to detail and a passion for innovation?

Are you looking for an opportunity to influence the full engineering lifecycle, from initial design through to testing and final delivery?

Would you enjoy leading and developing a team that includes graduates and apprentices?

If so, this Engineering Manager opportunity with Broady Flow Control—a world-leading manufacturer of valve products for the defence and commercial markets—could be the ideal next step in your career.

    WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

    * This is more than a management position—it’s an opportunity to influence the full engineering lifecycle, from initial design through to testing and final delivery to customers worldwide.

    * Work closely with cross-functional teams across foundry, machining, assembly and testing.

    * Ensure compliance with key industry standards and certifications, including ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API.

    * Make a direct impact on product quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within a technically demanding environment.

    * Lead and develop an engineering team that includes graduates and apprentices.

    * Join an experienced, supportive and close-knit management team.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    * Managing the Design and Technical Engineering team, providing the product designs and technical data required by manufacturing operations.

    * Overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from order acceptance through to delivery, while meeting technical specifications and customer requirements.

    * Responding to technical queries from internal stakeholders and external customers.

    * Supporting production areas, including foundry, machining, assembly and testing, by troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.

    * Ensuring products comply with relevant industry standards and certifications, including ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API.

    * Contributing to research, development and innovation initiatives in collaboration with Valvitalia’s corporate strategy and innovation teams.

    * Collaborating with senior management colleagues and providing regular updates to the General Manager and Director.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    * Strong leadership, people-management and technical capabilities.

    * Knowledge of or experience with valves or similar engineered products.

    * A collaborative and results-focused management style, with the ability to develop people and drive performance.

    * Proven experience managing complex workloads and delivering against customer requirements without compromising quality.

    * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers.

    * Strong problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to analyse technical issues and implement practical solutions.

    * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), safety and HSE principles.

    * Proficiency in CAD, Autodesk Inventor, CFD and other relevant engineering tools.

    * Experience within an engineering or make-to-order manufacturing environment.

    WHAT YOU’LL GET

    * A competitive salary, dependent on experience, within a varied and influential role.

    * An excellent pension with a 9.5% contribution.

    * 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as additional time off at Christmas that is not deducted from your holiday allowance.

    * Private medical insurance.

    * Life insurance worth 2.5 times your salary.

    * Excellent professional development opportunities, including hands-on experience across key business functions and regular exposure at board level.
