How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00. Flexibility is required to support site security requirements, with occasional weekend cover for security checks (typically one weekend shift per month or every couple of months)

    Assistant Facilities Manager

    We are looking for a proactive and organised Assistant Facilities Managerto join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities services across a busy and complex site.

    Working closely with the General Services Manager, you will act as a key support function and a secondary point of contact for site operations, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day delivery of soft services including cleaning, catering, and security.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working within a facilities management organisation or outsourced FM environment who is looking to develop their career further. You will have exposure to managing service delivery, supporting operational teams, coordinating suppliers, and working closely with clients to maintain high standards across site.

    Experience within a GMP, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or highly regulated facilities environment would be highly desirable, as the successful candidate will support service delivery within a compliance-focused setting where quality, safety, and attention to detail are critical.

    The post holder will also support the General Services Manager and provide cover during periods of absence.

    Key responsibilities:

    Support the General Services Manager with the day-to-day delivery of site services, ensuring high operational standards across cleaning, catering, and security
    Coordinate service teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery meets contractual, compliance, and client requirements
    Act as a key point of contact for client queries, supporting communication and effective issue resolution
    Manage operational administration including work orders, reporting, invoicing, purchase orders, payroll support, and month-end activities
    Support cost control, budget tracking, and financial processes across site operations
    Maintain accurate compliance records including training, employee documentation, health & safety, hygiene, fire safety, and COSHH records
    Support workforce planning, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and team development activities
    Assist the General Services Manager during periods of absenceand deputise when required
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the delivery of excellent service standards across the siteWhat we're looking for:

    We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and passionate about delivering excellent service. You will ideally have:

    Previous experience working within a facilities management company, or similar service-led environment
    Experience supporting the delivery of soft services including cleaning, catering, security, or related FM operations
    Experience working within a GMP, pharmaceutical, laboratory, manufacturing, or other regulated environment would be advantageous
    Experience supporting teams and coordinating day-to-day activities
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    A customer-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships
    Experience working within a compliance-driven environment
    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    Understanding of financial and administrative processes
