SW Locums is recruiting an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join Devon County Council’s Children Looked After North Team.

Pay: Up to £38.00 per hour, depending on experience

Team: Children Looked After
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to cover maternity leave and support children and young people in care.
The successful candidate will:

Build positive relationships with children, young people and families.
*
Focus on family-led outcomes to achieve safety and stability.
*
Manage a caseload and visit children as required.
*
Complete high-quality assessments and SMART plans.
*
Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
*
Work within multi-agency and court settings.
*
Demonstrate strong recording, assessment and communication skills.
*
Apply relevant legislation, models and theories in children’s social work practice.
Requirements:
*
Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
*
Successful completion of ASYE.
*
Relevant children’s social care experience.
*
Valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
Additional Benefit:
Eligible candidates may receive an accommodation/commuter allowance of £150 per week, subject to agreed eligibility criteria. This allowance will be reviewed at the end of September 2026.
