How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: SEN Teacher
    Location: Uxbridge, Greater London (UB8)
    Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 per annum
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
    Sector: Education

    Harris Lee Education is recruiting SEN Teachers for a specialist school in Uxbridge supporting young people aged 7–19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, speech, language and communication needs, and complex behavioural needs. All students have an EHCP.

    Small class sizes, a full in-house therapy team, and a dedicated support staff team you will lead.

    The role

    * Plan and deliver highly individualised lessons built around each student's cognitive, communication and sensory profile

    * Lead and develop a class team of Special Support Assistants

    * Work alongside in-house Speech & Language and Occupational Therapists, embedding their strategies into daily teaching

    * Use AAC confidently — high-tech devices alongside PECS, symbols and visual supports

    * Apply Positive Behaviour Support principles to help students regulate, communicate and progress

    * Contribute to EHCP reviews, target setting and evidence of progress

    * Build trusted working relationships with families and carers

    What you'll need

    Essential

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

    * Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally in a special school setting

    * Working knowledge of AAC (PECS, symbol systems, high-tech devices)

    * Experience supporting complex needs and behaviours that challenge, using PBS principles

    * Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team

    Desirable

    * NASENCo, or a qualification in autism, SLD or communication

    * Experience of post-16 pathways, accreditation and transition planning

    * Team Teach or equivalent positive handling training
