How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Range Planner - Convenience


    The location of the role is Paddington, London (hybrid working).

    The duration of the contract is 6 months.

    The pay rate on offer is £275 - £350 per day (via Umbrella agency).


    The client is a multinational high-street retailer.


    Summary

    As a Range planner you will build ranges that are curated for the Convenience channels, make product areas easy for customers to shop, support ‘best in town’ display principles and efficient replenishment. Provide a customer and operational perspective with regards to range within the categories and work closely with the Commercial teams and Franchise Partners. Partner the Supply Chain in the delivery of product space that focusses on excellent displays and appropriate cost to meet credible displays. Ensure ranges & planograms to agreed timeframes through effective workload management. To partner the New Product Development (NPD) to ensure products are aligned with strategy.


    Key accountabilities of the role

    • Build and execute maintenance of Convenience category ranges, ensuring that they are updated to agreed critical path and display and operational principles
    • Work closely with Commercial Managers to curate ranges and sign off with Franchise Partners.
    • Analyse product and store inventory data to settle the best attribution of micro space, to optimise operational efficiency and shelf fill
    • Lead product attributes and customer decision trees to support execution of relevant displays and ranges
    • Play a key role in leading the display strategy with Display teams, making recommendations in line with display principles, as well as supporting in the building of planograms.
    • Work closely with Convenience store & retail teams to drive right first time launches and integrate feedback into range builds.
    • Regularly visit competitors in the convenience market to keep track of innovation and current trends.


    Key skills and experience

    • Knowledge of the Space Range, Display, NPD, Supply Chain and Procurement processes and critical paths
    • Excellent project management with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
    • Proactivity and solution driven
    • Excellent ranging analysis, interpretation and problem-solving skill
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Excel
