How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Early Years Practitioner (Level 2+)

Little Robins Nursery at Sunninghill Prep School | Dorchester, Dorset (DT1)

    Permanent | Year-Round | Up to £31,185 FTE (DOE) | Now Offering 4-Day-Per-Week Contracts!

Looking for a nursery where you can make a real difference every day?

At Little Robins Nursery, we believe that happy, supported practitioners create the very best experiences for children. That's why we've built a warm, nurturing environment where our team is encouraged to grow professionally, work collaboratively and enjoy coming to work each day.

Located in the heart of Dorchester, Little Robins Nursery is part of Sunninghill Prep School and the Inspired Learning Group, giving you the best of both worlds—a close-knit nursery community with the opportunities and career development that come from being part of a wider family of schools and nurseries.

We're incredibly proud to have been recognised as one of the Top 20 Nurseries in the South West for the second consecutive year. Guided by our core values of Courage, Commitment, Creativity and Compassion, we provide a caring and inspiring environment where children, families and staff can all thrive.

We're looking for a passionate and qualified Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 or above) to join our friendly team. Whether you're looking for greater work-life balance with our new 4-day working week option or a setting where your ideas, experience and enthusiasm are valued, we'd love to hear from you.

    What you'll be doing

As an Early Years Practitioner, you'll play a key role in providing outstanding care and education, helping every child feel safe, confident and excited to learn. You'll:

    • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that support children's individual interests and stages of development.
    • Create a stimulating, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to explore.
    • Observe, assess and record children's progress, using your knowledge of the EYFS to plan meaningful next steps.
    • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents and carers, working in partnership to support each child's development.
    • Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence and confidence through responsive, child-centred practice.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of care, learning and professionalism throughout the nursery.
    • Ensure the nursery environment remains safe, clean, stimulating and fully compliant with safeguarding, health and safety requirements.
    • Contribute ideas and enthusiasm to continuous improvement, helping create exceptional experiences for children and families every day.

We're looking for someone who has:

    • A DfE-approved Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
    • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
    • Good knowledge of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding.
    • A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • A genuine passion for providing outstanding early years education and care.

    Why join Little Robins Nursery?

We know that investing in our people is the key to providing exceptional care for children, so we're committed to supporting your wellbeing and career every step of the way.

    We offer:

    • Up to £31,185 FTE, depending on experience.
    • NEW 4-day-per-week contracts for improved work-life balance.
    • Annual salary reviews.
    • Discounted childcare.
    • Free lunch during your working day.
    • Generous holiday entitlement.
    • Health and wellbeing support.
    • Ongoing training and professional development.
    • Opportunities for career progression across Inspired Learning Group.
    • A welcoming, experienced and supportive team.
    • The opportunity to work in an award-winning nursery that is part of a respected independent school.
