How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Litigation Associate | 3–6 PQE | West End

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Litigation Associate to join a highly regarded West End firm, work directly with a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked Partner and gain significant exposure to high-value High Court and Chancery Division matters, with a clear pathway to becoming a senior member of the team and ultimately progressing towards partnership.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Associate at around 3–6 PQE to join an established West End practice and become a key member of its growing litigation team.

The role offers considerably more than a traditional Associate position. Working closely with one of the firm's senior Partners, you will become their principal Associate and right-hand person, sitting between the Partners and the more junior solicitors, paralegals and trainees. With significant responsibility and direct Partner exposure, this is an opportunity for someone who is ambitious, commercially minded and looking to build a long-term career within a firm.

    The Firm

This established West End firm has built a strong reputation for its partner-led approach and high-quality work across a number of specialist areas. The firm operates with a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, offering lawyers the opportunity to develop close client relationships and take genuine ownership of their work.

The Litigation team comprises three Partners and a wider support team, with this appointment intended to become a key part of the department's future.

The firm is particularly interested in someone who is looking to put down roots rather than make a short-term move, with genuine scope for progression and long-term succession planning.

    The Role

You will work closely with a senior Partner as their principal Associate, taking a central role across a varied commercial litigation caseload.

The team handles significant High Court commercial litigation matters, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to gain substantial exposure to complex, high-value disputes.

Alongside these matters, you will work across a broad range of commercial disputes and have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for matters, clients and junior team members.

The role is particularly suited to someone who wants to be developed and moulded into a future senior member of the team. In the longer term, there is a genuine succession planning opportunity for the successful candidate to progress towards partnership and ultimately play a leading role in the future of the practice.

    The Candidate

The firm is looking for a Litigation Associate with around 3–6 years' PQE to join its rapidly expanding litigation team, offering significant exposure to high-value, complex matters alongside excellent opportunities for long-term progression.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • England & Wales qualified solicitor with strong litigation experience
    • Strong High Court litigation experience, ideally including matters within the Chancery Division
    • A solid grounding in general commercial litigation and experience handling complex disputes
    • The ambition to build a long-term career within one firm, with a genuine interest in progressing towards partnership
    • The confidence and maturity to work closely with senior Partners while also supporting and guiding more junior members of the team
    • A commercial and client-focused approach, with experience developing client relationships and/or contributing to business development desirable

    What’s On Offer

    • A genuine opportunity to become the key Associate supporting a senior Partner
    • Significant exposure to complex, high-value High Court litigation
    • A clear long-term progression opportunity, with partnership and succession planning firmly in the picture for the log term
    • The chance to develop across both technical litigation and client-facing responsibilities
    • A collaborative, partner-led environment where you can build a long-term career
    • Hybrid working, with around 3 days per week in the office

This is an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Associate who is looking beyond their next move and wants to find a firm where they can genuinely build a career, develop alongside an experienced Partner and ultimately progress towards partnership.

If this sounds like a position of interest, please apply or get in touch with Charlie Simpkin to discuss the opportunity further.
