We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Facilities Management business, taking responsibility for the financial control of mechanical projects up to £3m.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with a strong MEP/mechanical background looking to take ownership of project costs from initial estimating through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify cost variances.
- Implement effective cost-control measures.
- Manage procurement and support contract negotiations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Contractors.
- Carry out regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts and risk assessments.
- Monitor project performance against budgets.
- Ensure contractual, legal and industry compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role.
- Minimum MEP experience.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Experience working on mechanical or MEP projects.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of estimating and project management software.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
